The Triple Science e-learning project has been developed to complement and enhance the Triple Science Support Programme. This project has been developed to provide additional support for teachers who are delivering or preparing to deliver Triple Science GCSEs.
The 15 e-learning units (5 × Biology, 5 × Chemistry and 5 × Physics) can be used as stand-alone activities, but together they build into a coherent course, supporting the implementation of e-learning to deliver Triple Science.
The project sets out to harness the potential of social networking and Web 2.0 technologies, e.g. podcasting, blogging and video editing, and combine them with more traditional motivational ICT activities (e.g. quizzes) to provide teachers with powerful teaching and learning tools. Many of the activities have been developed using the popular technologies that students use frequently outside school (e.g. social networking, podcasting and subscribing). They will provide teachers with experience of how these technologies can be used as motivational tools, and to enhance science teaching and learning.
